On Monday we celebrated 15 years of ownership from Paul and Sandra Corcoran. It’s been a wonderful time and we would like to thank all of our customers for your continued support and friendships. We also had a great celebration on Saturday and are grateful to all our friends and customers who called in to help us celebrate with bucks fizz, espressos and cookies! We shared plenty of pictures from the day over on our Instagram and Twitter pages.
The last 15 years have flown by and we are so grateful to have a business which we love and are passionate about.
We have had such an amazing 15 years, we’ve met wonderful people through cycling and the sport we love. Our passion is helping others to ride the bikes of their dreams, have fun and enjoy cycling as much as we do. As a bike shop we love to help people fall in love with cycling, just like we have.
It’s amazing how things work out. Paul managed the shop for a number of years whilst our founder, Johnny Mapplebeck, continued to be the MD. When he was turning 80 Johnny made the decision to emigrate to Canada. It was at this time Paul and Sandra bought Pennine Cycles.
Since then they have seen the business develop. The cycling industry has certainly changed a lot in these last 15 years. We are so proud to continue to be a proper bike shop and also build our own Pennine frames on the premises in Bradford. It’s amazing to see our bikes turn up around the world. We began life in July 1946 as Whitaker and Mapplebeck (cycles) Limited and since then Pennine Cycles has continued to move forward.
We are grateful for the friendships, the memories and of course we can’t wait to see what the next 15 years has in store. We are sure it will be full of even more cycling, plenty of laughs and lots of fun.
We have some great memories over the last 15 years from chatting to customers over a coffee, our Sunday rides with members of V.C.Bradford and most recently our involvement with the Tour de France – We never imagined the Grand Depart would visit our county of Yorkshire!
We would like to thank all of our customers who have supported Pennine Cycles over the last 69 years (this July) and of course the last 15 years.
The world of cycling may have changed but we are still passionate for the need for independent bike shops. We always strive to be the best we can be and are always looking to get better.
So thank you once again and happy cycling!
