On the last day of February V.C.Bradford:Pennine Cycles had our annual club dinner and prize presentation. It was a fun night, with good food, good company and of course lots of cycling chat.
Every year we hold the dinner at Windmill Court, the food is top quality, which is a must for cyclists. They provide a set menu with generous portions.
On to the winners
We have a number of trophies and here are the winners of the 2013 season, we can’t wait to see what 2014 holds for our cycling club!
The winner of 3 trophies on the night was Steve Ayres. He won our Time Trial award for the fastest TT. The Darren Ridehalgh trophy which is awarded to the person deemed to have been the best ambassador for V.C.Bradford and the Nige Moore Memorial Trophy. This is in memory of our friend and club member Nige who passed away last year. He was an avid cyclist and lover of all things cycling. The trophy will be given every year to the first V.C.Bradford rider to finish the Nige Moore Memorial Road Race. The trophy was specially commissioned by Nige’s family and we were honoured that his partner Angela joined us the night and presented all the prizes.
We are also grateful to club member Tim Curtis who arranged for the Nige Moore Trophy to be made, it looks great and is a fitting tribute.
Our road race champion for 2013 was Andy Hunt. Andy came first in a race during the season and had a number of other high finishes.
We also have a Sunday Run’s trophy for the most consistent rider attending our Sunday Club Runs, this was awarded to Paul Corcoran, again!
Every year we have a Time Trial Handicap race which takes place on the 10 mile TT at Kildwick. This year it was closely contested and the winner was Andy Head.
We would like to congratulate all the winners and we look forward to an even bigger and better 2014!
