The months here at Pennine Cycles are flying by and May was no exception.  As usual we spent a lot of time riding our bikes.  There was also plenty of TV watching with the Giro d’Italia on for 3 weeks plus other races such as the Tour of California all on at the same time. We saw some live racing at the Durham Tour Series and we launched our new V.C.Bradford kit!

The Giro

A large proportion of May was taken up watching the Giro d’Italia.  We thought it was an enjoyable race but we would have loved to have seen a few more attacks during the mountain stages.  It was great to see some wins from the Bardiani team on their MCipollini bikes.

On TV at the same time were a number of different races including the Tour of California and the Tour of Norway.  It was hard to keep up with so much racing!

To celebrate all the great races this year Camelback have launched 4 bottles for the Giro, the Tour de France, the Vuelta and the Tour of Britain.  We have them all in stock now.

Birthday Celebrations

Both Sandra and Paul celebrated their birthday’s in May.  Whilst Sandra celebrated hers by flying off to America on business, Paul celebrated his birthday as a guest at the Yorkshire Women of Achievement lunch.  Here he was 1 of about 10 men in a room full of 200 women.  The CEO of Welcome to Yorkshire, Gary Verity was the keynote speaker talking about the Tour de France coming to Yorkshire!  It will soon be here!

The Tour Series

On a recent trip to Durham Sandra and Caroline were fortunate to watch the Tour Series.  It looked like a tough race – Although the laps were short there was a steep cobbled section which broke the race up quickly.

Steve’s Race Reports

V.C.Bradford member Steve Ayres continued to share his race reports on our blog throughout May.  Due to the British weather he is getting used to every race condition being different!  The weekly Kildwick 10 mile Time Trials are now in full swing, with some other members of V.C.Bradford also taking part.  Steve has been riding some longer 25 mile races and getting some great results!

So that is just a few of the things which happened at Pennine Cycles in May.
