Our director, Sandra Corcoran, has successfully been included in the shortlist for the small business award for the Northern Power Women 2017.

The awards, now in their second year, were created to showcase role models and celebrate the many different ways women are contributing to the Northern Powerhouse.  The shortlist was announced last Friday, via a mix of exciting emails and tweets!  You can see the full shortlist here.

Northern Power Women Awards

Sandra says, “I’m delighted to be nominated because it gives an example of a Yorkshire woman in business,  who grew up on a Bradford council estate and left school with no qualifications who is now a successful business woman and a role model to other women. I am passionate about encouraging women how it’s never too late to change the direction of your career, as owning my own business is the best thing I ever did!”

It’s been an exciting month for us at Pennine Cycles, not only has Sandra been nominated for this prestigious award but she and Paul celebrated 17 years since they bought the bike shop on the 2nd February.  It certainly has been an exciting February so far, with lots more good things to come.

The awards ceremony for the Northern Power Women is being held at the Hilton Hotel in Manchester on March 7th.  We are looking forward to putting on our glad rags and getting dressed up for the evening – Good luck Sandra!
