We were delighted to once again organise the 2016 Nige Moore Memorial Road Race on Sunday 26th June. As always we had a great race, some fantastic support and lots of help from members and friends of V.C.Bradford. The winner this year was Levi Moody of Wheelbase Altura. Levi went on a solo attack and was able to stay away from the chasing peloton!
This year was the forth time we have held the race in memory of our friend and club member Nige Moore. We are sure he would be thrilled to have a race named after him and we would like to give a huge thank you to his partner Angela and both their families for their continued support. Nige’s family donated a trophy in his name which goes to the first V.C.Bradford member to finish. This year we had 4 club members in the race and the trophy will be presented officially to Darren Caines at our annual club dinner. Darren also received a De Tour De Yorkshire book donated by the author, Rick Robson.
Thanks for the support
We had some great sponsorship and support for our race. The first prize was donated by Barclays Bank, who have supported the race since the beginning. We also want to thank DM Keith in Bradford for providing 2 cars and drivers for the race.
Here are some of the businesses who also supported us this year:
We are grateful for all the support we received this year. The race is run under British Cycling rules and regulations for 3rd and 4th category riders. We received some great feedback from the race too.
